This is a true walkers' paradise: Just a few yards from the hotel you can pick up the round the Fuschlsee Lake walking trail which takes you through tranquil forests and along the banks of the lake. You'll need about 2,5 hours to complete the walk, unless you stop off for a swim along the way! A less strenuous walk will take you up to the Waldhof-Alm mountain hut restaurant in just 15 minutes. The restaurant in Salzburg Province is idyllically perched on a sunny clearing with a fantastic view of the lake and offers delicious local specialities. Somewhat more challenging is the walk to the Ellmaustein peak for example, one of the three mountains in Fuschl. It will take you a little more than an hour to reach the summit and the trail is relatively steep, but the views from the top are well worth the effort. For ardent mountain hikers the Salzkammergut Lake District offers an endless variety of walks and hikes such as the hike to the top of the Schafberg, which takes about four hours. For experienced hikers guided walking tours will take you on trails across the Dachstein Massifs or the Osterhorn range.
